World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items can be used to improve the stats of a particular item. Depending on the upgrade type it could increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats.
Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's stats base increase when it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on who you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the fact that many perks have to be replaced to allow the item to get upgraded.
It is also used as a gating requirement when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is limited to the lower levels). Item Stats

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can also choose which stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges of an item are based on the item level, but every item is guaranteed to have at least one stat within the range, unless it is an exclusive item or the result of a God roll from a boss in a raid.
This is another aspect that could be changed by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or deciding which stats to enhance. However, as with the base equipment, this would need to be carried out on a per-item level, and the interface for comparing items wouldn't show all possible stats either lost or gained at the same time.
Item Luck
The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the likelihood of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player an opportunity to get better gear earlier in the game. This is more beneficial for early game runs, since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.
Luck can also increase the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading which increases with each level of the item and can be further increased by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
The shields, armor and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to add another 40 luck or to increase the luck of the item to 140.
Certain items, such as the weapon that is infused with hollow, can also be equipped to increase the damage of any ability that causes damage by five percent. These items can be purchased in the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Upgrades to items are expensive and not every upgrade will be successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to boost their chance of success or stop them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade fails.
The rate of success of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of completing the upgrade successfully and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to the extent to which the success rates can be improved, and the overall chance of an upgrade failing can't exceed 100%.
The success of an upgrades is also influenced by the Luck of that item. Each item has an average success rate of 25% and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by an additional 5percent.
The upgrade overlays for items are displayed above items in the inventory. This may cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
